Motorcyclists gather and prepare for the Ride for Recovery.

The third annual motorcycle ride, Ride for Recovery, to raise funds for Coweta FORCE will take place on Sunday, September 26.

Coweta FORCE provides support for addiction recovery. Registration will begin at 12:45 p.m. at Change Church, 45 W. Broad St., Grantville and the ride will begin at 1:30 p.m. The ride will end at Coweta FORCE, 48 E. Washington St., Newnan.

Registration for the ride is $15, with an additional $5 per passenger. On-site registration begins at 12:45 p.m. and the ride will begin at 1:30 p.m. Ride participants are encouraged to attend the 10:45 a.m. Change Church service prior to the ride.

All vehicles are welcome to participate.

Ride for Recovery was started by Wayne Stewart as a community project within the Family Treatment Court.

He said one of the requirements of the program was to give back to the community. Because he was a member of the FAITH Riders at Change Church, Stewart said he decided to organize a charity ride as part of his project.

After the initial ride, Stewart said he decided to continue the project and turn it into an annual ride to benefit the community.
