Michael Jordan’s Catch 23 boat is registered at the White Marlin Open

Michael Jordan and his boat Catch 23 are entered in the White Marlin Open 2021.

This will be Jordan’s third consecutive year at the White Marlin Open. Although he hasn’t caught anything in the past that would net him a prize money, his arrival has consistently generated excitement from spectators and competitors at each of the past two tournaments.

In recent years, the arrival of Jordan’s private plane at Salisbury Airport in the days leading up to the tournament has been something to watch with Salisbury residents and local anglers alike.

This year’s tournament will take place from August 2-6. Widely known as the largest swordfishing tournament in the world, the White Marlin Open attracts hundreds of boats every year in the hope of winning cash prizes in each of its divisions. In recent years, the overall purse has reached $6.7 million.

The White Marlin Open isn’t the only fishing tournament Jordan has participated in in recent years. In 2020, Jordan also competed in tournaments, including the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament in his home state of North Carolina, where he and his crew finished in fifth place after staggering a 442.3 pound blue marlin.
