The first LEGO set based on Marvel’s upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder is rumored to be called 76208 The Goat Boat.
This wacky premise alludes to artwork revealed for the fourth Thor movie late last year, which depicts a Viking-style boat pulled by the superhero’s two goats, Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder. In the comics, animals usually pull Thor’s chariot, according to the Norse mythology that inspired the character (although the goats there are known as Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr).
Promobrics reports that the Marvel Cinematic Universe set will include 564 pieces for $49.99, and may finally include new LEGO goats. Just to temper expectations, however, the same source acknowledges that the animals could be built out of bricks – and given that there’s no word on any goats appearing in this summer’s CITY farm sets, the reintroduction of mold here seems unlikely.
We’ve known as of December 2021 that several LEGO sets based on Thor: Love and Thunder are on the way this year, with a LEGO catalog suggesting they’ll hit shelves in May. That would have coincided perfectly with the film’s original May 6 release date, but Marvel has since topped its entire slate of films, pushing the Thor-quel back to July 8.
Specific details around this particular set are still just rumors at this time, so take them with a pinch of salt until The LEGO Group confirms otherwise.
