Killing Floor 2: new map and game mode introduced in the Tidal Terror update

The first-person horror shooter Kill Floor 2 received one of its biggest content updates this year. The Terror of the Tides The update introduces a new map and a weekly game mode, in addition to new weapons.

First and foremost, Zeds are the enemies players face in Kill floor 2. Although they look like zombies, they are actually super-soldier clones developed by former Horzine Biotech CEO Kevin Clamley (also known as “The Patriarch”).

That said, the new community card introduced by the Terror of the Tides The update is the Rig. Here, players will fight hordes of Zeds on an oil rig in the middle of the ocean. This map supports Survival, Weekly, and Endless game modes.

Another notable addition in this content patch is the new weekly mode, Arsenal Ascent. Players will start the game with a knife but can earn new weapons by killing Zeds.

A few things to note here. First, each new weapon increases the player’s weapon level. Second, the newly acquired weapon is randomly chosen from a list by weapon level. And third, players will fight against endless waves of enemies until they reach the final weapon level. Once they have reached this point and after defeating the current wave, the final wave of bosses is unlocked and will begin shortly thereafter.

The Terror of the Tides The update also brings four new weapons, namely:

New Weapon: HRG Head Hunter Photo: Steam

HRG Crossboom (demolisher)

  • An alternate version of the crossbow for the wrecker’s advantage

  • A level 3 weapon that fires powerful explosive bolts

  • Secondary fire makes a bigger explosion with reduced damage, perfect for fending off weaker Zeds

  • The trader price is 900 Dosh

HRG Headhunter (sniper)

  • An alternate version of the Hemogoblin for the Sharpshooter Perk

  • A level 3 semi-automatic weapon that fires darts that enlarge Zeds’ heads

  • Secondary fire uses energy to launch an expansive wave that damages enlarged heads

  • Trader price is 1100 Dosh

Sentinel (Commando)

  • This is a paid DLC weapon. This weapon can be shared between players through our weapon sharing system

  • An autonomous drone equipped with a fully automatic cannon is treated as a Tier 3 weapon.

  • Alt-fire detonates the drone

  • The drone also explodes when it runs out of ammo and a Zed passes by

  • The trader price is 500 Dosh

Reducto Ray (Survivalist)

  • This is a paid DLC weapon. This weapon can be shared between players through our weapon sharing system

  • A Tier 3 weapon that fires an energy beam that shrinks Zeds and kills them by triggering a “death by evisceration”

  • Shrunken Zeds are more vulnerable to damage

  • The trader price is 1,200 Dosh
