fortnite: Chapter 3 – Season 2 kicks off with an all-out showdown between IO and the forces of the island, but it’s fair to say that it hasn’t brought many changes to the Season 2 map yet.
There don’t seem to be any new POIs or named locations at a glance, with most of them remaining the same from the start of Chapter 3, although that makes sense given that the map was already brand new and full of new locations. However, there seems to be an impact on the war map.
Here is the Fortnite: Chapter 3 – Season 2 map.
Not radically different at first glance, but if you look closely you will see some effects of the war.
Here’s an airship hovering above Rocky Reels, which might actually be flyable as the season progresses. These seem to be all over the map for this season.

Here’s a look at these airships, which actually appear to share a design with Marvel’s Helicarriers.

The map also seems to show the signs of war, with the battle leaving “scars” of conflict like these on the map.

That’s about all that meets the eye at the start of the season, but remember that if you’re disappointed with how little the map has changed at the start of Season 2, it will almost certainly be different. Every season of Fortnite to date has seen some sort of map change over the weeks it’s been running, and with Season 2 being all about War, there’s very little chance of anything staying the same.
Fortnite is free on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Android.
