Rise of the Resistance could cost a family of four $ 60 with Disneyland’s new Genie Plus

When Genie Plus launches at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, it will totally change the park experience for customers. Whether this change will be positive or negative remains to be seen, but the anticipation of change is at an all time high.

The Walt Disney Company recently announced that Genie Plus will launch at Walt Disney World on October 19. It’s still unclear when it will launch at Disneyland, but we do know what rides will be included and, given what’s going on in Florida, how much of the extra money some rides are likely to cost.

Under the new system, Disneyland customers will pay $ 20 per person per day to get faster access to 19 rides through Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, in what is essentially a relaunch of the previously available MaxPass. At Walt Disney World, the price is $ 15 per person per day to access 46 rides and attractions in its four parks.

According to Disney, the 19 Genie Plus rides at Disneyland that will be covered by the additional $ 20 per day are:

Disneyland

Space mountain
Haunted house
Indiana Jones Adventure
Big Thunder Mountain Railway
The world is small
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler Race

Additionally, guests will have the option to pay an additional individual attraction selection fee to access Lightning Lane at three rides: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Radiator Springs Racers, and Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure.

Prices for individual rides are not yet known at Disneyland, but the one ride that is a cross between Anaheim and Orlando, Rise of the Resistance, will cost $ 15 per passenger per day at Walt Disney World. For a family of four at Disneyland, that could add up to $ 60, if the fare is consistent between the two parks. Coupled with Lightning Lane access to other rides, that’s $ 140 for the same family, with an additional $ 80 for Genie Plus and $ 60 for Rise.

Once they pay for Genie Plus, guests will be able to make a Lightning Lane selection every two hours and will be able to pay for an individual route selection twice per day, but these must be for different routes. Prices for the selection of individual attractions will vary based on demand for the day. Some rides at Walt Disney World currently cost as little as $ 7 per ride during the week and up to $ 15 on weekends.

Disney Fan Club D23 is offering a one-day free trial of Genie Plus to members when service begins October 19 at Walt Disney World.

It’s unclear when Disneyland will launch Genie Plus, but the service will likely arrive by late fall.

Editor’s Note: This story was updated at 8:30 p.m. on October 14 to correct the pricing of individual attraction selections.
